Event Staffing and Support
STI employs highly qualified tissue specialists (MD, RN & Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technologist - CLS/MT) to staff training events. STI staff will set-up the configuration of each training station customized to the clients specifications, presenting the proper instrumentation and equipment to ensure a seamless learning experience. Prior to the event, STI staff conducts a practice run of the Client’s surgical training syllabus to familiarize themselves with the medical device and procedure to be performed, and identify any potential issues in advance. On the day of the event the tissue condition is inspected and documented for acceptable temperature and condition and prepared for surgery-ready use. STI technicians then drape all specimens in a surgical fashion to expose only the needed surgical areas.
During the training event, STI staff function as First Assistants, operate C-arm imaging systems and endoscopic video towers, capture high definition real-time audiovisual feed of training activities, and provide any additional requirements necessary to assure the optimum educational experience. STI staff post event procedures include the removal of all implantable devices and surgical instruments, as well as the washing, sterilization, packaging, and return shipping to the Client. Upon conclusion of the training event, STI technicians will prepare tissue specimens and return ship back to GenLife Institute for delivery to family or internment, and maintain complete documentation for appropriate handling of the human tissue disposal.
